Programs selected will provide an environment that will nurture the arts, foster creativity, and enrich the community. Groups and individuals in the arts with intentions of using space in the Decorah Community Education and Arts Center would be consistent with the following goals: |
| • To provide individual or shared studio space to local artists with serious commitment to their art: who agree to work a specific number of hours in their studios; who volunteer a specified number of hours in Decorah Community Education and Arts Center classrooms and/or galleries; who serve on committees that manage artistic spaces; who donate artwork for fundraising purposes. • To establish dedicated facilities that are equipped for particular artistic purposes such as art, theater, and dance for classes, school groups, and for performance. • To devote common classroom space for teaching of the visual and performing arts; and to furnish gallery and presentation space in varieties of dimensions that may be used by community artists and groups, consistent with guidelines established by the governing board. |
